Andaaz is an ethical fashion label that trains and employs women from urban slums. Established in 2020, Andaaz runs a stitching and learning center in Islamabad’s largest slum where it provides a safe space for women to learn, network and earn. Andaaz is inspired and powered by women; every garment is carefully created, every garment tells a story of resilience, and every garment transforms lives through training, employment, and empowerment for the women of Dhok Hassu. It is being supported by the Akhter Hameed Khan Foundation, a non-profit that discovers and promotes effective, women-centered and participatory solutions to urban poverty.
Mission: To create a sustainable business model for underprivileged women to create household prosperity, community role models of women entrepreneurs, and thriving national economic growth.
